FAQs

Where should I stay?

We recommend staying near downtown Truckee. There is plenty to do in the way of hiking and shopping, and Lake Tahoe is only 15 min away. Also, shuttles to and from the ceremony/reception will be available at multiple locations around downtown, including the Martis Valley Lodge (fka Hampton Inn) and Springhill Suites (see Travel & Lodging for more details).

We have group rates at the following hotels:

  • Martis Valley Lodge (formerly Hampton Inn & Suites Tahoe-Truckee) - Book by June 16th. Call 530-587-1197 to secure the group rate. Parking is available for $15 per vehicle per night.

  • Springhill Suites Truckee - Book by July 9th. Parking is available for $10 per vehicle per night.

  • Gravity Haus - Book by June 17th. Parking is complimentary. To book for Aug 1-3 use the link. To book July 29-31 or Aug 4-6, call 303-503-4762 or email groupreservations@gravityhaus.com.

How should I get to & from the wedding ceremony?

Shuttles will be provided to and from the ceremony and reception at Boca Estate. Pickups will be ~30min prior to the ceremony at multiple locations in Truckee, including Martis Valley Lodge (fka Hampton Inn) and Springhill Suites (see Travel & Lodging for more details). Shuttles returning to Truckee from the venue will be departing approximately every 20min after the ceremony until 11pm.

Guests who have RSVP’d “attending” will receive a transportation form to complete about a month in advance of wedding day, which will inform whether there are additional pickup & drop-off locations around Truckee.

Parking at the venue, while available, is very limited. Please text Mara at 952-693-6768 by 7/15 to confirm that there is space for your vehicle.

How should I get around Tahoe?

While Ubers and Lyfts are available in the Tahoe area, wait times can be lengthy, especially in more remote areas or during busy times. As such, if you’re looking to explore the surrounding area we recommend renting a car.

See Travel & Lodging for details on getting to Tahoe.

What should I wear?

Welcome Drinks: We recommend smart casual attire for the Welcome Drinks event on Friday. Men are encouraged to wear chinos or dress pants with collared shirts (jackets/blazers optional). Women are encouraged to wear dresses, jumpsuits, or a skirt/trouser/blouse combination.

Ceremony: Please wear summer cocktail attire for the ceremony and reception (see this resource for inspiration). It will likely be warm in the afternoon/evening, but temperatures often drop after the sun goes down. So we recommend that individuals sensitive to chill (like Mara) bring a light sweater.

Note: The ceremony and reception will be entirely outdoors. We will have weather contingencies (blankets and heaters if cool, i.e.) but please dress accordingly.

Can I bring my kids?

We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. We want parents to be able to relax, be present, and enjoy the party with us!
